50th Solid Gold V-LEAF

The Legends of Africa & LEAF Favorites

The time has finally come to introduce the greatly anticipated LEAF Solid Gold 50th Festival, featuring the “Legends of Africa.” We pulled no punches, as we return with a full-size festival and many of the LEAF traditions we all cherish. We have a wonderful roster of artists that have all been part of LEAF in the past. Why the “Legends of Africa?” Africa is the core and essence of where so much of humanity and music has originated. It has forever influenced music and cultures throughout the world with the diaspora of its people. Secondly, over the years, LEAF has connected deeply with many African artists and friends that have become family. And because of these bonds and our love of Africa, we chose the theme “Legends of Africa” to bring back the magic of not just the continent, but its people, our family. So join us for a true gathering of friends and the rekindling of traditions that have made the past 27 years of festivals memorable. Join us October 20-23 for the LEAF Solid Gold 50th Festival, featuring the “Legends of Africa.”

LEAF 2022 Videos Vignettes To Step into the Golden Magic

Mayani is a Maasai boy from longido Arusha. He went to boarding school at 6 years old and lost his Maasai language and tradition. Since joining the LEAF program, he has learned to sing Maasai songs, practiced the ‘jump’ tradition and wear Maasai shukas (traditional clothing). Mayani is extremely happy and is currently teaching other youth the culture.
